SPITBACK INTERVIEWS -ENTREVISTA 2012

BUENO PUES YA DESPUES DE UNOS AÑOS SIN ENTREVISTAS A QUI LES DEJO UNA PEQUEÑA ENTREVISTA CON LA GENTE4 DE SPITBACK BANDA DE FRANCIA QUE TOCAN UN HARDCORE 2 STEP CERVEZERON JAJA  GRACIAS A THANKS MAX GUTH Y  CHRIS SPITBACK BAND  FOR THE INTERVIUWS AND SPITBACK BAND POR LA ENTREVISTA ESPERO QUE LES GUSTE...
- Ben : Could you explain how those who are SpitBack started and where they are ?

Chris : Spitback is a band from Eastern France (near Strasbourg). Its members are Jay (vocals), Chris and Alexis (guitars), Had (bass) and Max (drums). We started in 2008 with Max, Jay and another friend, with a very different line-up. After many changes, we got our final line-up 6 months ago. We recorded our first 3-tracks Demo in 2009. Then, we recorded the "One" single. Finally, in 2011, we went to the Jack Studio (Belgium) to record our "A Fight To Change Your Mind" EP. We are currently writing a new album (with at least 1 featuring with the vocalist of a famous english hardcore singer, but we keep the secret for the moment ;) ) !

- Ben : Tell me a little about your "A Fight To Change Your Mind" EP and your new projects

Chris : When we wrote this EP, we were 4 : Alexis wasn't a member yet, Max played the bass and Thoun was our former drummer. We decided to break up with our first influences and to think more of the feelings our music gives. We gained some maturity and we worked a lot. The only thing I'm gonna say about our new projects is that we reached another level of creativity and all tastes will be pleased !

- Ben : How was your participation in the Undead Phoenix Fest ?

Chris : It was the first UPF. We were very glad to be part of the creation of this fest. We played with really good bands, like Syndrom 187, As They Burn, War From a Harlots Mouth or Awakened Demon. Too bad, there was not so many people, but everybody moved and this show was one of our best ! We filmed our Spitback clip this night !

- Ben : You played with Skarhead and Spit Your Hate. Telle me more about this show !

Chris : We really enjoyed to share the scene with Skarhead, because they are a legendary NYHC band, so we were really proud. And for Spit your hate, they are a little local band of our region, who mixed old school punk and hardcore with firm word.

- Ben : In the Spitback clip, I could hear a delicious beer. Any advice about french beers ?

Chris : Haha, yes. We have put this sample in this music because in Alsace (the french region where we come from), we love the beer ! If we speak about one, i can just say "METEOR", because it's the last beer 100% coming from Alsace. It's not the best but we remain "patriot" !

- Ben : Could you talk about Rest In Pieces lyrics and Niko Weyk's participation ? What was the point of this song ?

Max : Rest In Pieces is a fight against dumbasses we can cross on the street, bullying the weaks and wanting to rule the world. It's a will of peace through a message of violence. Everybody can find somebody stronger than him, and why wanting to ruin a person's life ? We will all die finally, life is short so people like this should realize that their behavior is worthless. Unity = strength, we must remain united. Those who reject that will probably be beaten one day, they can burn in hell and rest in pieces :)

Chris : I contacted Niko because he has a powerful voice full of hate. When he sings in a way you can feel the energy. For the featuring of this song, we wanted a loudmouthed singer to match the lyrics.

- Ben : Can you recommend us some good french bands ? Any message to give to new hardcore guys ?

Chris : It was a difficult question because there are a lot of good bands, but lots of them are dead now, and it's very sad. So, to avoid people's jealousy, i rather remain silent ;)
I would still like to say we have very good bands in eastern France, so if you are curious, you can check this page which brings togheter some : www.facebook.com/hardcore.franceest

Max : New hardcore guys should, first of all, find a steady line-up with same tastes, which we had not in our beginning. Let your tastes lead in composition, but try to imagine what the public will feel listening to your music and think of it any time ! Try not to be boring, vary your structures. AND HAVE A GOOD SOUND FOR YOUR ALBUMS !

- Ben : Well thank you very much guys. Last of all, where can we buy your merchandising ?

Chris : During shows of course !
For the CDs, we have two distributors:
GoodLife recording : www.harcore.gl
Useless Pride : www.uselesspride.com
And we have our own merchandising website :  http://spitback.bigcartel.com/. Sadly, we don't have hoodies anymore ! Thanks for this interview. Take care of your blog !
